Humla Trekking

The Upper Dolpo Trekking crosses three relatively high passes following good paths throughout and no trekking on glaciers. Dolpo is situated at the edge of the Tibetan Plateau in the Himalayan rain shadow. This legendary hidden land was closed for years to trekkers. Few tourists visit this area and trekkers are given a warm welcome by the hardy Dolpo. This will give you a fascinating insight into the Tibetan way of life making this an extremely unique and special trek. This trek is ideally suited to both beginners and the more experienced traveller. A special permit is required to trek in this area.

Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu 
Namaste and welcome to the Himalayan country of Nepal. You will be meet at the airport and be transfered to your hotel for check-in. After time to get refreshed, you will be meet in the evening for a welcome dinner in one of the finest Nepalese restaurants which includes a cultural show. Then afterwards you will be briefed about your trip and brought back to the Hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 02 : Kathmandu Valley sight-seeing. 
Today, after breakfast you will go on a guided sightseeing tour of the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding Valley. You will visit Swoyambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, with its fine views over Kathmandu valley. The temple has many interesting features as well as the great stupa with highest point to the Kathmandu valley. 

After this you can join the devotees, pilgrims and wandering saddhus (holy men) at Pashupatinath. Pashupatinath is the most important Hindu temple in Nepal as well as being one of the most important Shiva temples on the subcontinent. It is situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River where you may have a chance to see a cremation on the River bank. 

Take time to walk around Bodhnath (Boudha) stupa, the largest in Nepal and one of the largest in the world. Boudha is also the centre of Tibetan culture in Nepal and a wonderfully vibrant, interesting community. 

Explore the temples and courtyards of Patan, also known as the City of Fine Arts. In the evening we’ll drive back to Kathmandu where we’ll have a group briefing on what to expect when our trek begins tomorrow. The remainder of the evening is free for you to explore the surrounding area or simply relax at the hotel.

Days 03 : Kathmandu –Nepalgunj (fly) or by drive. 
Days 04 : Nepalgunj – Juphal( Dolpa) by fly
Days 05 : Juphal – Dunai 
Days 06 : Dunai – Hanke check post.
Days 07 : Hanke – Reji 
Days 08 : Reji – Ringmo ( shey – Phoksundo Lake)
Days 09 : Shey- phoksundo Lake Rest
Days 10 : Shey – Phoksundo Lake – Baga La Base Camp
Days 11 : Baga La Base Camp – Numla Base Camp
Days 12 : Numla Base Camp – Kakar Gompa
Days 13 : Kakar Gompa – Dho – Tarap
Days 14 : Dho – Tarap Rest
Days 15 : Dho Tarap – Big – Cave
Days 16 : Big – Cave – Lahini 
Days 17 : Lahini – Tarakot 
Days 18 : Tarakot – Heute Ghar 
Days 19 : Heuta Ghar – Dunai
Days 20 : Dunai – Juphal
Days 21 : Juphal – Nepalgunj
Days 22 : Nepalgunj – Kathmandu By fly or drive

Day 23 : Leisure at Kathmandu. 
This is a full day at leisure to rest and relax, to explore the local area and perhaps do a bit of last minute shopping at the heart of Kathmandu valley. You also have the option of doing some sight-seeing including Bhaktapur and Patan. Afterwards, you will have an evening farewell dinner with your crew and overnight at Hotel.

Day 24 : Kathmandu 
Today is free to relax until your departure or to commence any additional trips or activities you may have booked. If departing, you’ll be transferred to the International Airport in time for your return flight home. 

Note : The itinerary may flexible during the trek depending upon the clients requirements and fitness.

  • 4 night's hotel in Kathmandu on single/twin sharing accommodation on Bed & breakfast basis. All local pick up drop by required private transportation, Complementary well come dinner and farewell dinner with necessary transfer. Guided sight seeing with necessary entry fees in Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu to Nepalgunj to kathmandu by local or private bus/ flight. Nepalgunj to juphalto Nepalgunj by flight. Dolpo conservation entry permit, one expert trek guide (English speaking, insured, Govt. registered, salary, food and accommodation paid) with necessary porters, three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner from menu) tea or coffee as well, accommodation in the mountain at tea house/ lodge. boiled and safe drinking water, Sleeping bag and down jacket, rain poncho, first aid kit box.
